It depends on your app. What are you using?
Some apps allow to mute notifications for specific events.
I am on primal for desktop. Everything I've tried for Android GrapheneOS is unusable. I tried Amethyst (what even is that, looks like bare-bones nothing there), I tried Iris, and I tried FreeFrom, which seems to be a read/browse only mode app. So I'm sticking with desktop for now. Primal in my Brave browser on mobile isn't horrible, but it keeps making me log in over and over again to perform each action. Even when I turn Brave shields OFF.
well, primal is available on Android, too. runs just as fast as via webbrowser.
Primal also offers all kinds of notification settings under "settings".
Thank you! I found it, but I was worried it wouldn't work bc I use GrapheneOS and in Aurora Store, it shows it as GSF dependent. I will dig into it but I hope I don't have to have to sandbox it.
here's the github, you can download the .apk and install it. I'm using grapheneOS, too.

primal-1.0.3.apk is the files name
Now the only issue I had after that was that this evening until a minute ago, Primal.net (on both GrapheneOS and Brave desktop browser) had something caching and acting as if I was logged in, but would never let me perform actions. so I had disable my signer extensions (Amber on Android and Flamingo on desktop) and will just stay signed in normally w/my nsec until I find a solution. I just use Bitwarden to store my nsec, hopefully that's OK in the meantime.
I had wonky behavior last week. You may try what worked for me to see if that clears out the pipes.
