 @3a92a9b1 I am much more aware of how fucked I actually am. Knowledge is power!
 I truly value the "electronic library" aspect of the internet and modern tech, @3a92a9b1 ...

... as @34b3698a said, knowledge is power.

I understand your point about the medical industry, though. It's hard to find evidence that the TECH has helped advance MEDICAL SKILLS. Perhaps it's just let ignorant people do a slightly more difficult job.

I HAVE HOPES for AI in one area...

... medical imaging.

If they can get it so AI can quickly sift through millions of xrays, etc...
 @34b3698a @d46cf433 is the internet considered high tech now? Really the only thing the internet brought was access to info and high speed comms.
I suggest the overwhelming majority of internet is decidedly NOT connected to helping people progress as humans.
 @3a92a9b1 @34b3698a

showing my age...

... IMHO, "the internet" is the epitome of "high tech" and should be (have been?) the foundation for a truly great awakening.

It may be too early to know whether the internet is a net plus or minus.

Today, the most high tech thing affecting us all, whether we participated in the vax or not, is

CRISPR - "high technology" at its most current state, editing genes as easily as a Word* document.

*Which is not for the fainthearted, BTW.
 @d46cf433 @3a92a9b1 The Internet (cheap, ubiquitous global electronic communications) is a massive lever, capable of moving the world. Anyone can grab it at any time. It can move the Earth to a better place or flip it into the Sun.

I'm reminded of Moriarty in the STNG episode "Elementary, Dear Data," who constructs a device that will destablize the Enterprise. Moriarty has no idea that what he's doing will kill everyone. Then in season 6 tricks the crew into giving him control.
 @d46cf433 @3a92a9b1 I said that tounge in cheek of course, but really, if you're in a bad situation but you only know what's in your immediate surroundings, you might make a "safe" choice that's going to lead to failure. If you know you're dead if you hunker down, you might take on greater risk (nothing to lose). And that bet may work out.

Or maybe you know someone is on the way to help, and staying put is the right call.

Knowing you have choices is better than not knowing.
 "Knowing you have choices is better than not knowing."

@34b3698a @3a92a9b1

Always.
