It can. It's the nature of a protocol with no algorithims. I think peposting helps people outside of our bubble, on global and in different time zones find good notes and accounts to follow. I see it as a necessary evil. Choice is good UX so maybe a tap to "filter similar posts" would be a happy medium 🤔 

 I sometimes wish quick successive reposts of the same note were either merged into one post or they start getting queued and spaced out to appear later rather than almost immediately back to back
