thankfully, the two things presented here are not mutually exclusive.
Not buying crap hurts the system.
Buying bitcoin hurts the system.
the logical conclusion is to use money that would be spent on crap on bitcoin instead; 2 birds with one stone.
pretty sure the system found a way to fix that too so they get a cut
