I will be surprised if more than 1% of Asian population is using or interested to use bitcoin for payments. Sometimes I am confused who are we scaling for.
It's not 1% anywhere in the world. There is no interest in BTC for payments because even in developing countries there is no payments problem. Anybody can pay instantly and for free in most places, just with their phone. BTC for payments is a solution looking for a problem. BTC for anonymous, cash-like payments, well THAT would have a use. But few people are interested anyway.
It's very possible that the payments use case will be top-bottom, meaning banks and fintechs will use bitcoin as a backend for fast worldwide transactions, just like Strike. Once banks have that, you will be able to pay with bitcoin anywhere and the receiver can get btc or fiat right to the bank account, again like Strike does, in that moment btc can be used as payment anywhere.
