Gm Nostr! #nostrhelp for a friend of mine in the Netherlands 🇳🇱

He is paid in crypto (mostly stables + bitcoin).

Has been this way for years.

He earns enough but banks in the Netherlands refuse to give him a mortgage for his wife + 2 kids.

What options does he have?

Can someone tag the @NoderunnersRadio node runners?
Why contracting a mortgage, when can just live in a cheap rental and stack more sats?
Netherlands has cheap rental? Honestly, is there something without going full punk in some fields? I saw it in Belgium or Germany and wow.
I honestly think he needs to buy it with cash. Alternatively, he needs to maybe start converting his wages into bank fiat so it looks like there is regular income in his bank but this is just stupid with so much opportunity cost.

This I think, is the kicker. Getting a mortgage doesn't rely on your wealth, it depends on how well they think you can pay the monthlys AND your other expenses... they do an assessment for you.

You may get paid enough, but if you don't have capital for a deposit then they'll still reject you.

IMO, If you want to be sovereign, buy a house outright or rent until you can. It's hard to be part of society while being poor or while being sovereign.
Did he mix his coins or something?
EU doesnt really care as long as he can prove source.
Can he ask his employer to pay him in fiat? That's the easiest option.
Cointelegraph don’t pay in fiat and they’re as dodgy as they come. The issue is the Dutch banks don’t take the usdt payments or btc seriously 😢

I was paid in btc for my time there but most are paid in stables or some stables + btc.
 https://www.hoseki.app/ was built for this
Small plot of land with a yurt, in cash
 Try LEDN??
I'm not sure how the market is in the Netherlands, but cost of mortgage/tax/upkeep to own a home in the U.S. is 2-3x the rental cost for the same house.

Lowering cost month to month and saving that in bitcoin is going to be a far better investment long term then what the house will appreciate too.

This is not financial advice 🤣. Just my personal conviction.
