 I'm not sure how the market is in the Netherlands, but cost of mortgage/tax/upkeep to own a home in the U.S. is 2-3x the rental cost for the same house. 

Lowering cost month to month and saving that in bitcoin is going to be a far better investment long term then what the house will appreciate too.

 I was sitting at a coffee shop the other day and overheard at least two conversations from young couples overstretching themselves to buy a home, desperate and unaware of any other option.  I so badly wanted to intervene and show them a better way, but wisdom cannot be taught, it must be learned.  Perhaps the meme about owning a house is not actually owning a house might help?
