If you are expecting mass civil disobedience from bitcoiners you are going to be incredibly disappointed. Fortunately bitcoin is designed to be resistant against a captured majority. Millions of us will still use bitcoin as a tool for freedom but we will be the minority.
🎯
Two economies was always the expectation
Have a third for the win. 🤔
Fuck the majority.

How do you define civil disobedience. If owning bitcoin, owning guns and not turning either in at the request of any government isn’t civil disobedience, I don’t know what is. If you are looking for sit-ins and marches on Washington D.C., then yeah - I’m out.
True cyberpunks we’re always a minority. Buy all things considered when we’re this far into the distribution phase & are still very niche unfortunately. Like the government pushing regulations has ever stopped n e thing in the past. Making things illegal is their 2nd best revenue stream.
Very hard to predict what other people will actually do given changing incentives. Best to do what you think is right and embody the ethos you’d like to see. Maybe people will surprise you.
It feels like we are setting in for a fight. That's not ideal but will be necessary. I hear smart people referring to history and saying that this is the, "And then they fight you phase" Contrast is good and necessary. You don't know what you want if you don't know what you do want. I know that I want freedom and I know that because I have experienced being "caged" at times.
Well there are devs in this space that will gladly hand over a full audit of their zap history if asked by the government so yeah, tempering of expectations for sure.
The "remnant" will always be a "we happy few"
there will be nothing other than remnant once the day of reckoning has passed. which is gonna be really really soon. too many things lining up as pre-announced that they would.
The lockdowns were a massive wake up call for personally, just seeing how many people went along, didn't care, let fear override their love of liberty -- the sheer lack of discernment and understanding of what (at least in the U.S.) our form of government actually is. It was shocking and frankly heart-breaking. Americans have, by and large, lost their understanding of, and love for, our Creator-endowed civil liberties.
It's come from all angles. Mindless entertainment. Feminization and juvenilization of culture. "Bread and circuses." De-masculinization through ideological / social pressure as well as through estrogenic foods and diets, attacks on testosterone, you name it.
I don't mean to be pessimistic but we really are in a David vs Goliath scenario. And we need more Davids carrying more "smooth stones" like nostr and bitcoin.
yeah, it's horrible. i personally almost drowned myself in self-poisoning... i was on track for a heart attack, stroke, and losing my vision until this year, i had lost my hope almost completely. i'm now fighting to get my life back, and my hand has been guided in entirely unexpected ways. i have an intuition about the bigger pattern at play here but i'm just gonna follow the trail that i've been led to. btw, if you haven't read it, you should read The Apocalypse of Yajnavalkya. it puts together so many pieces of the puzzle your head will be spinning by the end of the book. i just chanced to be referred to it by Mark Jeftovich, the former shitcoiner now bitcoiner DNS guy, they published excerpts from the section about the rituial abuse chapter. i then read the Book of Enoch and i'm slowly, intermittently reading the Vishnu Purana, which is ringing loads of bells already and i've only just got to the first little narrative in it finally. and omg, reading the word "watchers" in and about them "coming down from the sky" the KJV version of the book of Daniel, can't stand what i'm reading there, it's like a chronicle of evil, but it just confirms things i suspected. most christians have no clue what is really going on. the catholics veiled everything, but the veil is coming off now, as it was told it would.
Whats this all about? Am I breaking some kind of law?
If you are in Czechia and have anything positive to say about Russia or russians - yes. If you are in Lithuania and do not declare formally to government on annual basis how much bitcoin or anything you have outside the official banks - yes.
We'll be criminals eventually and I'm fucking here for it
This is the main reason I ended up in #Monero. Many Bitcoiners who also identify as cypherpunks will follow. The rest will stay with compliance bros. nostr:nevent1qqs8wq7g93tcju4twnjqm4cnt6q2ywn66frtv383mu4sd7nvkqp8kmgpzpmhxue69uhkummnw3ezuamfdejsygqyey2a4mlw8qchlfe5g39vacus4qnflevppv3yre0xm56rm7lveypsgqqqqqqskvnq2f
I think most Bitcoiners are too busy leading productive lives to engage in what counts nowadays for civil disobedience. Modern day civil disobedience is a farce, with practitioners comfortable that the system paradoxically supports their disruptions, such that this so-called disobedience brings with it no risk and thus, no moral impact.
