In the immortal words of 42nd President of the United States, William Jefferson Clinton, it depends on what the definition of “is” is.
I am either a idiot or that quote is confusing lol
Haha, no worries. It’s from back when Bill Clinton was being questioned about Monica Lewinsky.

In any case, your question was “what is Free Will?”. It’s an “is” question. Definitional.

Definitional questions are often the most savagely debated, but also often pointless in application. How does defining Free Will make a difference to you? In what way would your behavior change based on that definition? What do you hope to learn in exploring these questions?
The exact quote was “it depends upon what the meaning of the word ‘is’ is.” https://youtu.be/0_ipnwoPczQ
Its fascinating and it challenges my own beliefs
This whole thing started off as a way to see each other view without argueing but i found a great enjoyment in seeing the different viewpoints
To me, Free Will is observed, non-deterministic, goal-oriented behavior carried out by a complex adaptive system.

That is, if an entity has goals and takes steps to realize them, then it is exhibiting Free Will, IMO.
