oh wow. the people took to the streets relentlessly to have a government that would remove favourability and corruption. what an incredible victory. I was surprise to hear how Sheikh Hasina described in detail the cruel murder she wanted to impose on Muhammad Yunus - i don't think you even hear that in telenovela. The microcredit loans that started by him and eventually picked up around the world esp for poorer communities focuses on quick ways they can turn around. I had a technician once who went back to Bangladesh to use these means of funds to open a textile factory. Its these little stepping stones that rebuilds the economy. I was saddened to read how they invaded his house and office while his wife was terribly ill. I was under the impression that he did not want to be in politics. I've heard an interview where he said he has tried once and was not in favour of it so it is an interesting turn of events. I hope the opportunity for women remains open and impartial without discrimination

I like equality of the sexes as long as people understand there are serious differences. Women don't get in many fights, so they don't understand the insane cost of violence and going to war. Makes for bad rulership.

These are the kind of thoughts that people are often distracted with, instead of having real discourse about the harm of war or any other real issue be it market reforms or social reforms for that matter.

Men can be bad rules too, and women can be good rulers. But this is one of many trends people need to understand. Stereotypes exist for a reason. You couldn't open a door without assuming it's like other doors you've met. One problem is being unable to think beyond stereotypes. The other problem is thinking stereotypes are evil. You cannot live without making generalizations.

Oh no way, they ousted Hasina!! I lived in Dhaka for a few months in 2016. The disdain for Hasina was truly palpable, especially among the younger and college-educated Bangladeshis. History in the making!
