I remember stories better than covers. This book, which I read 28 yrs ago, is my most interesting example.

I loved, & own, the series (this is 3 of 4): the intimate setting, character dynamics, river connecting worlds…

In Torment Surfacing, 6 characters, all with secrets, head downstream on a raft, Kasaria always at the raft’s bow. In one scene they pass beneath an ancient arch as I payed homage to Simmons & Tolkien.
