I don't understand why bitcoin influencers and plebs on Twitter / X don't have Nostr accounts and don't talk about it. It's like you're anti Bitcoin if you're not on Nostr. It will blow people's minds if they knew where I come from and yet I'm here.
for most people, #Nostr provides softer landing to #Bitcoin thinking and onboarding than bitcoin's most valuable feature. it creates a bridge for the most influential and prolific socially oriented user to dive into Bitcoin with less friction and resistance
I was onboarded to bitcoin ten years ago on Twitter. If not for ChangeTip, I never would have bought any. I would rather onboard precoiners onto nostr than say "Buy bitcoin." You should not "invest" in things you don't understand. Nostr is like Galt's Gulch on the Internet. We use #bitcoin. This is not an asset you send your fiat to a financial institution in the hopes of getting more fiat. It is peer-to-peer electronic cash. You might want to get some in case the money printer go brrrrrr breaks the economy, but do what you want

You are probably right, if they see the zaps and come to realize that it is btc that they are getting, it’ll be a light bulb for them… so many people that I try to get on btc don’t understand that you don’t have to have a full coin to have btc and zaps are a great way of introducing micropayments to those people. The hard thing to do though after getting someone on nostr that doesn’t understand btc, is to get them to setup a lightning wallet if they are not starting out on something like primal

It's a kind self insurance. Nostr to hedge against the government or centralised platforms silencing or banning your offer others speech. Bitcoin for if the central banks keep inflating the money supply or your retail bank stops servicing you. As with all kinds of insurance, you want it place before the disastrous event occurs. You can only really insure against future transgressions. When you eventually find Nostr & Bitcoin, you realise just how certain those future events are & you're glad that you're somewhat prepared for them.
