Damus leads the way with real polls, everyone else will complain about the fun they're having, then vitor finally adds real polls so I can have fun on nostr. Then we all have fun with polls. Come on Will:)
Current poll spec is easy to game. I could make a bot that ruins every poll on the network. I would rather a spec that actually works. Polls are an inherently centralized concept without web of trust
There are filters on poll results for people worried about that, and PoW options. What else would they need? 🤔 That's a genuine question btw lol
Nothing, it's easy to call something game-able and ignore it than to actually put in the effort to make it work.
Can there not be a merge of polls to have all the options for polls. Bot zap/nonzap/pow + filters with lists / wot or whatever? No idea
They can I've been thinking about it as well, it's doable, we can use the existing zaps nip to do it as well, but I have too much work on my plate with trying to make a release for formstr. I'd be open to any dev picking this up and submitting a PR to pollerama.
That's why they make sense on a community relay, where all npubs have to be whitelisted to write.
It also makes sense to know how you're followers voted or how your contact list voted or any other set of pubkeys. But no, let's wait for divine intervention before polls can even touch our holy apps. Lol.
