Triangulate when the phone is off? Bullshit.
No because you can't make sure that the phone is of without removing the batteries which are glued in between sheets of glass.. Furthermore it could be remotely turned on again.
So the towers can triangulate you even when your phone is turned off, only if it’s not ACTUALLY turned off. I am understanding this correctly?
Additionally, take a look into apples find my network and googles equivalent.
I'd like to see more information about that, too. Seems unlikely, as communicating on the cellular network takes quite a bit of energy. So even if "off" is really "low power mode", I'd like to see some experiments that verify what's happening. This is one of the reasons why the older phones or few available current models with removable batteries may be valuable.
