This has been my life at work the past week: https://files.sovbit.host/media/0689df5847a8d3376892da29622d7c0fdc1ef1958f4bc4471d90966aa1eca9f2/2188579309f785890faf5ed964122eae4cbc548d86f670e71dc0a8666ee40701.webp https://files.sovbit.host/media/0689df5847a8d3376892da29622d7c0fdc1ef1958f4bc4471d90966aa1eca9f2/770da096a5d55f7707a0a6724d6b7e1e01a9ad74f0785e18d76b877bccf6ca64.webp Another before and after: https://files.sovbit.host/media/0689df5847a8d3376892da29622d7c0fdc1ef1958f4bc4471d90966aa1eca9f2/a04831be98e93331b3a90409ff561d187959d70230867e82beb8a9071cfcb193.webp https://files.sovbit.host/media/0689df5847a8d3376892da29622d7c0fdc1ef1958f4bc4471d90966aa1eca9f2/ee4b1f80718dc21625cd3c14ca5c34afdeb922455f2afe2be659cceecc5ba1af.webp So yeah, I've been filling holes, gaps, and welds that aren't positioned correctly by the robot programmers. Hundreds of them. I just shake my head and keep my hands busy. It's honestly pretty pleasant work. I'm very good at aluminum TIG. It is easy to get into a really good flow state and I can listen to music and podcasts and no one bothers me at all. 😁 I get to stack dimes in the fiat mines so I can convert more fiat into BTC for my future! #grownostr #fiatmining #weldstr #welding #beexcellent #buildthefuture #tig #tigstr #aluminum #stackingdimes
Nice work Sir!
Proof that automation doesn't always live up to the hype.
Not yet. But in this case, you gave guys who have never MIG welded aluminum trying to program a rather complex part to weld. But... If they had bothered to ask, I could gave gotten them to a better program in a few parts, not literally hundreds. 🙄
Stack dimes. Stack sats.
Nice looking repair! It’s interesting the weld pulled to one side of the joint and sucked into the root gap. Path really favored that side of the joint in that short length. How was the original fit-up/fixturing within the robot cell? Issues with the seam tracking? Never works too good on aluminum. Keep crushing it 🤘
There's no seem tracking. It's all blind and up to the programmer to make it work. The fit up on the parts is usually pretty good. I welded about a hundred of them before they moved over to the robots. If I was the customer, I'd be pissed. I know the ones I welded were pretty friggin good, and if I saw even the "good" robot ones, I'd be really cheesed off since that's not what I was sold on when I signed the contract. 🙄
Beautifully done sir
Nice! I’m looking to get into welding, playing around with a few jobs at home
If you need any advice, please let me know. I'm very good at getting people up to speed with welding! 😁
Thanks mate, Will do. I’m looking at picking up a second hand Cigweld 160 MIG / Stick welder. 10 amp ⚡️
I would highly recommend NOT learning to weld with the MIG process first. It's going to hold you back from learning how metal behaves. Stick is hard to learn in your own, but, it's a better place to start than mig. TIG really should be the first place to start even if it has the steepest learning curve because it's really about the simplest way to get intimately acquainted with how metal melts.
