 @e7cebe76

There are about 30 within 3 miles of me. You could say a Favela is being built:
-at least 1 is dealing meth
-lots of kids around not in school
-near grocery store where they steal food beer and toilet paper
-Pop up free cell phone booth is social gathering point during nice days

-These people are not from Colorado.

And none of y’all even live in Denver.

The summer they kicked all the homeless off the Cherry Creek, I had 20 trailers/RVs (most barely mobile) on my street and a tent city in the park.

I literally battled to keep these people off the property.

I am nostalgic for 90's downtown denver.

I grew up in south Denver and spent my 20s living off speer and rollerblading the creek and partying in Lodo. Makes me so sad when I come down now.

and I remember when you could go downtown after, oh, 6 pm...

... and stand in the middle of any major intersection without fear of being run over as there was NOTHING going on.

Dead.

Could have bought an old warehouse for $50K, too.
 @5415b1d2 @ec20f92d @e7cebe76 @d46cf433 I lived in Capital Hill, late 80s. Never worried about walking streets at night. Even the homeless who hung out by the pawn shops on Broadway were pretty chill back then.
 @34b3698a @ec20f92d @e7cebe76 @d46cf433 I know! I remember late nights at Governors park and never worried too much about danger.
