 Jaromír Jágr, the famous Czech hockey player, chose to wear the number 68 as a tribute to a significant event in his home country’s history. 

The number 68 represents the year 1968, when there was a revolution in Czechoslovakia against communism. 

Both of Jágr’s grandfathers were jailed during this time for unknown reasons. 

This choice of number is Jágr’s way of expressing resistance against communism, which was a stance held by his entire family.
