Indeed, I miss being able to actually enjoy a Hollywood movie. Dwight was definitely a close second, I love that he's an imperfect hero, soft spoken, not overly strong, but resourceful and always finds a way. The fact that he always changes appearance is almost a metaphor for how any of us could be Dwight.
He's fucking cool.
It's hard for me to think of a perfect way to designate Marv's character 🤔. Like... is he an antihero... an antivillain? Here's the thing, he has noble goals to avenge the woman he loved but he was absolutely ruthless and merciless in how he pursued his revenge.
She was a hooker who showed him kindness and spent an unforgettable night with him before she got killed next to him. She almost certainly did it to use him and hide behind him.
He knew all this but none of it mattered, he was still ready to burn the world in her name and find those who killed her. "Worth killing for. Worth dying for. Worth going to hell for. Amen."
I love his clarity of conviction, it's beautiful.
Anyway he was ruthless and merciless but he was this way with people who deserved it and his goal was righteous, if not very personal. So antihero, definitely not a villain in my eyes.
I can agree with that. Yea, definitely.
