 People are highly critical of it these days, for good reason. I think we need to be exploring other possibilities.

 Well, you could explore liquid as an alternative, or you could attempt to bootstrap some new solution, or you could join all the other developers putting in the work to make lightning better because … it actually already works?

 I am building upon and investing in Lightning. But I feel like a sane person should also be looking into future possibilities.

 The only “future” layer 2 I’ve heard about is Ark covenants- but it’s confusing to me. Seems like it would require the ark service provider put up way too much bitcoin to meet user liquidity.

 remember talk about something called Enigma Network but it was probably just a fad to push in some sort of covenant

That’s how routing transactions have pretty much always worked, doesn’t matter if it was the Silk Road, potatoes, fiat dollars, or now bitcoin?
