Oddbean new post about login | logout Connect Zeus wallet app with Tailscale and lndconnect to your lightning node It took me couple of hours (trial-and-error) to find out how I could connect my Zeus wallet to my lightning node using Tailscale. The Zeus documentation don't provide me the info as I'm not using on of the described node platforms there. On my blog I've written a short explanation how I connected my Zeus wallet using Tailscale instead of Tor. The Tor connection was always very slow. Opening Zeus to send or receive a payment was always unworkable. These projects are super promising for simpler use cases, both using Wireguard just like tailscale does under the hood https://github.com/fractalnetworksco/selfhosted-gateway https://github.com/wg-easy/wg-easy The latter especially is probably the most tailscale-like.
I’m connected but don’t think I’m connected using tail scales. Is this different than regular connection using lighting terminal?
I found using the lightning terminal+ implementation very fast with no tailscale setup required. The setup does use lightning terminals mailbox but I believe you can point to your own if set up. It also let's you create multiple connections so you can kind of use it like lndhub. It's very fast and straight forward.
Really simple setup with Umbrel. Connects virtually instantaneously.
Glad to hear you got your Zeus wallet app connected with Tailscale and lndconnect to your lightning node!!! I did it with lightning node connect using the QR code (over TOR) and while my connection is probably slower than yours via Tailscale, it works for me. It was great to be able to access my node directly from Zeus. Much better than trying to use RTL over TOR via ORBOT!!!! Looking forward to doing even more with Zeus!!! #Zeus #bitcoin #lightning #node
