 I bet political systems would work better if everyone was picked at random instead of a vote, like jury duty

You just get a letter in the mail one day that you have to be president for 4 years, imagine lol

 I throw any jury duty mail that comes in the mail in the trash. I would do the same with a presidential bid.

 Everyone takes a civics test. If you pass, you get entered into a lottery. If your name is picked it goes to a yes/no vote for the population. If it’s a no, back to the lottery until we find someone we can all agree to. 

Since I’m making rules, here are a few more: all laws expire after 24 months unless they are voted in by 75% or more. And glitter is made illegal (that law never expires).

 its called sortition and there are lots of good studies on it. jury nullification actually relies on the fact that the legitimacy of the jury is such that they are the highest authority in the trial system. or something like that.
