I think most people walk with so much accumulated fear that they're not able to think objectively.

To rationally assess risk you need to determine the likelihood of it occurring & the severity. The fear causes us to over estimate the likelihood & severity of certain events while ignoring others.

They can't control what people think, but they can control what people think about. This is the problem with centralised platforms & algorithms.
