this is how i feel too.. as someone who came up with astral.ninja... i dont have any need for a client that is a soft landing for newbies that comes with weird undertones of legacy social media such as algos, app store purchases, and kyc. luckily there are legit other choices on bith iOs and android 🤙
but i get it they are a business...can feel a wee larpy though with the whole open sourcing post-product release and all, i get the sense the commitment to FOSS is secondary and only necessary before their main user base is normies...then i think FOSS will not be a priority or even considered, that is how i read the tea leaves anyways..
