Just downloaded 0xchat and checking it out- it looks smooth AF and I like what I'm looking at but wondering, what's the use case? I can DM people via Amethyst already, my normal contacts are all over on WhatsApp and if I want direct private comms it seems everyone here recommends simplex these days. Is there something I've not spotted or figured out yet?

Other than that, I find it fun overall especially if you’re into Cashu.
That seems pretty cool, it'd be quick and easy to move from an cash wallet there straight to lightning so yeah that makes sense - great for conducting private business in a way then
It really shines in group messaging for me. We moved our Bitcoin meetup chat to a group on there and it makes it very easy to manage. That's the biggest thing that isn't possible yet in Amethyst that I regularly use. It's the perfect replacement for Telegram/Matrix/Discord groups.
Plus they're one of the only apps to support NIP-100 audio rooms. If nostrnests ever updates to NIP-100 you'd be able to join rooms straight from your 0xchat.
