It is not too late to buy, #bitcoin. 

Yesterday, I went to get my haircut, and the woman that I’ve been seeing for over a decade brought up her interest in Bitcoin. She mentioned that she’s hesitant to buy any because she thinks it’s too expensive and impossible to get into now. I explained to her that you can buy tiny fractions, called “satoshis,” and she was surprised - you don’t need to buy a whole Bitcoin to get started.

I think this is a big misconception for a lot of people. Not only is Bitcoin a complex topic, but the high price per coin makes it seem out of reach for many. People need to know that even small investments are possible and valuable. Owning one whole Bitcoin might be an ideal goal, but you can still participate meaningfully in Bitcoin without that.

 I’ve told many people the same thing. 

 Repetition is key 

 Helps to demonstrate that. I’ve been getting people to download a wallet and I send them a sat. When asked what it means, I simply explain I did the impossible, I sent less than a cent of value is usd and can do that around the world. Bitcoin makes the impossible possible. Seems to spark curiosity and improve understanding. Small steps! 

 Love that. So simple. I tried to get my mom to download the STRIKE app, but she was kind of weary about it asking for her Social Security number so I’m sure some people may have some resistance against that but again there’s so many other applications that ask the same thing. 

 We have local company here. Custodial wallet. It just makes it easier for me as everyone on same custodial system and don’t have to open up rabbit hole of lightning channels etc at the beginning. Probably easier to do it like that with wallet of satoshi or something. We use puravida bitcoin and I think it helps as you can do lightning but also on chain so triggers conversation about custody etc. There’s loads of options but I think best to identify one and stick with it so not losing time on different wallets etc. I made that mistake and just ended up in long winded conversations going nowhere 

 Yeah, it’s a great point because there are so many different kinds of wallets. Not to mention the complexity of lightning channels and stuff that even myself is still learning how to do properly. 

 Pura vida wallet pretty good if you want to try. It’s built on goloy so similar to some others. I think it’s useful to have a wallet that has both options of on chain and lightning for conversation. It’s a question of finding the correct starting point. Full psychopathy takes time! Saying that, I took one person from “how does it work” to “I’m ordering a cold card” in a couple months! Not the norm though 

 I should add if you have a bunch of people, get them to pass it round. That demonstration resulted in a deep rabbit hole all the way to self custody and hard wallets in one meeting I organised. It was very fast eye opening. I realised that I was talking too much previously. Demo goes much further as they work it out themselves
