What kind of help do you need nostr:nprofile1qyd8wumn8ghj7urewfsk66ty9enxjct5dfskvtnrdakj7qgmwaehxw309aex2mrp0yh8wetnw3jhymnzw33jucm0d5hsqgpm7rrrljungc6q0tuh5hj7ue863q73qlheu4vywtzwhx42a7j9n5zr9h9m ?
Hard question.
The audience is the "normies" ?
normies aren’t going to make the effort to look at a website like this anyways tbh. clients should be accelerating and growing the introduction process and a tutorial.
Oh, I don't know. If someone's curious or experimenting, they will. There's only so much that each individual client can explain... and the more educational resources, the better. Flood search results with useful stuff 😊
for sure, just being realistic. attention spans are not the same as they were, it’s a complicated game to just hope people are curious enough to search for a specific website. they’ll most likely give up and go back to legacy apps.

decentralization is great in theory, but can it beat the abundance of comfort that legacy apps give the regular user?
No doubt! Attention doesn't last past the first 10 google search results for most people unless their curiosity is piqued. So if someone hears "nostr" on a podcast, tv, in conversation, whatever, and thinks "wtf is nostr?" they should be able to google that & have enough top results to get a grasp on what it is, how it works, and why it's important. The concept being more, rather than convincing people to try something, simply be ready for when they're ready.
wait you’re so right queen. i didn’t think of the google search after hearing it out and about. in that case a user friendly and eye catching designed website like that would be perfect. 💗
You're right too, clients can/should educate as best they can. The movement to promote decentralization has to be as decentralized as the environment 😂 death by 1000 cuts 🤣🫂
truly a complicated task, props to @fiatjaf for trying to do something about it.
💯
Being listed here would help? https://www.nogood.studio/projects/

Nostr? Ummmm...

Notes and Other Stuff Transmitted by Relays. Unlike traditional social media, it is a Protocol (like email), not a Platform.

Is Nostr a Bitcoin thing?

No. Nostr has no direct relationship to Bitcoin, it does not depend on Bitcoin, and it is not required to use Nostr. In fact, it's ok if you don't understand Bitcoin. Even if you've never heard of Bitcoin, You can still use Nostr.

What is a client? What is a relay?

A client is the app you use to connect to a relay - think of it like a browser for notes. Each of the many Nostr clients you have to choose from has its own look and features -- but they all connect to Nostr relays. In this way, Nostr clients are like web browsers that connect to websites -- but instead of connecting to a server to see websites, your Nostr client connects to a Nostr relay to see notes. Relays store notes.

What is a note?

There are many different kinds of Nostr notes, but the basic note type is readable text. Just like a social media post, it might have a url to a website or a reference to an external image or video in it, and just like social media platforms, when your Nostr client finds a note like this stored on a Nostr relay, it previews content from the links for your timeline. Other note types include long-form text notes, like blog posts, and short chat texts.

TLDR?

To build your social media timeline, your chosen Nostr client calls your chosen Nostr relays to find notes from all the Nostriches that you follow.

So every note has a different relay?

Nope! Each relay stores as many notes as it wants, and you choose how many relays you want your client to connect to. Each of the many Nostr relays you have to choose from might specialize in a certain type of note, or in notes from certain creators, but for most purposes, you can connect to just a handful of relays and see just about all the posts in the world.

The best explanations of relay I found was an youtube video comparing it to a hose where water flows.

So you want to spread water around (your notes) and you do it by connecting your water source to many hoses.

When one ges broken or blocked the others keep sending water.

I don't remember the name of the video, but it was fantastic and it's the analogy I use with people and they all want to try nose after that.

If you know graphs you can days each user is a a node and and relay is an edge, and you have unlimited amount of edges between any nodes
I think it would be much easier to the public if relays were renamed to "channels" or "waterways" or "hoses", or "powerlines" or anything that automatically remembers people that are they work in parallel and this blocking one has no effect on you
Or even "wire" or "cable"
If you find a good word starting with R I'm onboard.
https://relatedwords.io/transports?starting_with=r

Railway, road, rail, river,.radiostation

I like river because if you think of water flow (water is your message), if one river is full or blocked the water will pass thru other river.

Notes and other stuff transmitted thru rivers.

Notes and other stuff transmitted thru Radiostations (or radio channels)

In this radio analogy,. someone chooses to voice his thighs over many radio channels (like 90Mhz,.102 MHz) and people can listen to all those stations.

If one station fails, the other still works
TOP!!
E parabéns pela sua conversa com o @AlexandreCosta, foi sensacional!!! 👏👏👏
Forget the relays, its all about the notes. Once one understand notes; relays, clients, everything becomes obvious and a trivial afterthought
