Nostr just needs to get much bigger to have an audience. 1. Interface needs to be built smoother and better like X has mastered. But without censorship or oversight, like Nostr has. 2. Needs to not just be about bitcoin. Normies get shit on often around these parts. I know the old saying “we are so early…”
I agree, but what is your plan to make that happen?
I for one wish Damus scrolled smoother and the threads worked like X. You get a few layers deep in a thread and Damus forces you back to the beginning of the thread instead of allowing you to back up incrementally. I wished likes and zaps had persistence and stayed showing on Damus. I have used Nostrudle and some of the others.. Damus seems closest to X. But I like features scattered around the other clients here and there. Its just spaghetti all over the place. Can clients just get better. They still suck, and having to use several kinda sucks. To get to certain features. Not sure how to make groups or sandboxes for people who don’t want bitcoin in their face every other post. (I like bitcoin but I like a social platform to let me go and find and see what I want to see).
Is it possible to have a NIP that allows people to input their Twitter, IG, FB, etc. credentials and have the posts show up on those platforms too. So you post and interact on nostr, but the content flows through to all those accounts. People reading your posts get wind of this meta-protocol, start using it, posting to all of them simultaneously too. Pretty soon everyone is just posting peer to peer, following each other via the meta protocol and as it improves, you don’t need the middleman anymore.
> Interface needs to be built smoother and better like X has mastered. I agree with this. However, I think one good thing about Nostr is many interfaces can exist, for people with different tastes. Not everyone likes new Twitter. Some people like old Reddit and Hacker News. And there will be clients for that. > Needs to not just be about bitcoin. Normies get shit on often around these parts. Can't agree more with this. Moreover, even a Bitcoin user may not want to constantly read about the currency they use. I'm a euro user and I'd be pretty bored if most discourse were about euros, too.
