He has made this proposal along side removing federal income tax.. I definitely pay more than $3900 a year in that so seems like a net positive lol
I'm not in favor of tarrifs and don't put much stock in politicians promises. My main concern is the messaging....They're trying to confuse people about the root cause of inflation. Grocery prices are rising, and will continue to rise, because of fed policy. Print money equals worth-less money equals food costs more using the worth - less money.
just because printing money is stupid doesn't mean that tariffs are smart

the Boston tea party was a protest against tariffs at the foundation of our country why? well partly because they didn't want to pay more for tea. tariffs are taxes. they make prices rise. China is a target. much of what you see at Walmart is Chinese . poor people shop at Walmart 99% of umbrellas are Chinese poor people need cheap umbrellas. just one silly example
