 Due to my current living situation I am unable to run my own lightning node.

I'm considering using muun wallet because it's non custodial.

Anyone have any thoughts on muun? Is it secure. Is it truly non custodial?

Has anyone successfully restored their wallet from backup?

 I recommend exploring Mutiny and Phoenix as well. I've heard mixed reviews on Muun.
 @OpenSecret great too
 Muun can be a great wallet, but in a high fee environment like we have now, it can be absolutely brutal. I only use Muun when fees are low. Here’s why:

Muun stores your funds on-chain (and they send a Lightning transaction for you separately). It’s still pretty self-custodial, but not perfect. But the point is that when you have a bunch of small UTXOs, they have to be combined to send in bulk. So all those little “Lightning” zaps you received begin incurring on-chain fees when you send them out. It was going to cost me $40 to send $200 last month.

I would recommend using a “node in the phone” like @ZEUS or Phoenix. Both self-custodial.

They are a bit more technical, but still very easy to use while still learning about Lightning channel use, and no hardware cost besides your mobile phone.
 Phoenix wallet. Best in town right now..
 muun is not a long term solution for receiving or sending lightning payments because it assumes a low fee environment. Those days seem to be behind us so you're better off using one of the other recommendations mentioned in this thread.
