What do ya’ll think of Azteco as a bitcoin buying method?
Wish we could offer it in USA!
 Sembra buono.
If your thinking about it it’s probably legit.
Seems like a friendly alternative and without giving away so much information
Haven’t used it but looking at it now. Interesting that in order to acquire the voucher, you have a selection of merchants to purchase from. Merchants appears to have a 10% markup. I guess the customer would weigh that option, along with privacy benefits, against options that offer similar redemptions at similar markups (i.e. ATM machines, where available).
 5%
A medium to buy bitcoin instead of P2P or KYC platforms - more options and accessibility globally is a good thing.
limited scale but very viable for merchants to use in onboarding.

I would love to have access to it. It would be much easier to onboard family, friends and merchants. It's also a great way to buy anonymously.
Iv used it, it worked well, a good way of getting kyc free sats.
Tried it out immidiately. Intended to buy a 10€-Lightning Voucher, but the service fee is over 10%. Stopped there. Clearly the subsequent redeeming of the voucher into BTC can't be free of charge, too. So the tradeoff for non-KYC is: very high fees.
 The redemption part is free.

But yeah, non-kyc sats generally come with a markup. Like 10% in this case.

The lowest I have seen is Bull Bitcoin post office vouchers with a 2% markup but that is only in Canada.
I tried it here in Canada. It was cool that I did not have to explain anything to the clerk, just show the QR code and pay-up. Still not sure how KYC it actually is. I think your identity can be associated somewhere during the flow.
The funding is ‘anonymous’, but once the funds hit your account, IMO you are doing a KYC purchase from your ‘verified’ account.
It’s KYC free if you pay with cash, get the voucher, and redeem.

If you pay with credit cards or something then that starts adding traceable elements.
Not sure about that. The Bitcoin Bull account is asking me to upload gov documents. I can have funds come in anonymously(cash at the post office) but buying Bitcoin is under a verified context.
It’s a cool way to get anonymous money into the account, but calling it KYC-free is a bit of a stretch, IMO
The QR code I present to the clerk effectively identifies me, so I wouldn’t even call that an anonymous cash transaction.
But how Non-KYC is azteco really? Because all those companies if you pay with credit card maintain those financial records and share with the government right?
In some countries you can buy vouchers at the counter with cash. Then it is really KYC-free (given no other surveillance present)
BISQ in Europe is often between 3.5-5%.
But w/o the cost of selling my personal data.
I believe that started in 2021 in UK... Post Office was in partnership with a German company if I am correct...!
It works very well in Africa and makes Bitcoin more accessible.
if your goal is NO-KYC sats robosats is better for me
 I'll stick with Robosats!
I would use it exclusively if it was in the U.S.
Very expensive, last time I saw had a 7% fee.
Depends om where you buy it, I think
On Eneba it's 10%, for example.
never heard of it. So far Ive just bought on exchanges and with cash
It won't likely happen in my life time, but I think the end goal is for everyone to have some BTC/sats. When that day comes, there won't be a need for fiat anymore.
I'm not too worried about KYC. You can always create forward privacy with conjoins and lightning. If the gov starts coming after bitcoiners just for having bought coins, we've probably got bigger problems on our hands and it might be time to switch jurisdictions regardless of your view on Bitcoin.
Not the biggest fan due to the fees. Up to 10% (on Eneba, for example).

What would be cool is a P2P market for vouchers that can be created/redeemed on the marketplace with customizable fees, hmmh.
I wish there were vendors in the US where I could walk up and pay with cash. Supposedly there are online vendor partners but as far as I've seen they require registration and payment options are KYCd like credit cards.
If you know someone with a terminal that is willing to take cash or alternative payment options then it's a great KYC-free option.
Pros: It's dead simple to buy and redeem.
Cons: You pay a 5% fee for such an easy experience (P2P seller gets 2-3%)
A fan, easier for first timers to try.
It looks great but there wasn't retailers available in my country, so I eventually settled on Robosats & Bisq.

It's a clever model & makes sense both from a retailer & customer perspective.
AFAIK it’s not redeemable in “Standard exeption” countries e.g. Iran.
It is redeemable but the purchase in itself is not possible over there.
The vouchers are practically redeemable as it is a kyc free process. However, it is officially illegal due to US sanctions.
I’d argue that they are just random numbers.
Are you in such a country ?
Actually i am. And there is a difference between sth to be doable and to be legal. It may be doable but it’s still illegal and the service (azteco or resellers) has the legal right to freeze my bitcoin anytime during the purchase or redeem process.
I agree with the differences between legal and doable.
No one can freeze your bitcoin.
Like no one can freeze the ⚡️
Now, finding a vendor in such a country will be impossible, but the world is vast…
I’m not sure if the redeeming process of azteco tokens are fully trustless. If a level of trust is needed, bitcoins are also freezable. Also during the purchase process, my fiat is freezable.
The problem that you have is finding a vendor willing to accept cash.
Well i assume that’s not gonna happen in Iran as no company can be confirmed as a vendor/reseller by Azteco due to sanctions.
 Indeed.

Premium is high but a big fan, especially if you're finding yourself dealing with cash, I recently got paid a certain amount in cash and I was like do do I deposit it in the bank? Nah just bought vouchers with it got LN sats and then swapped back on-chain
Tried once in a local "shop", amazing. Unfortunately he no longer sells them...
It was a pretty streamlined processing redeeming with bluewallet
 I adore it !
Ethical Sats Provider at your service ;-)
The very name hints they appeal to Latin American countries and from their web it shows that’s their footprint. The prepay like system might work fine for small purchases.
