As a parent, and a teacher who has taught in three different provinces, in villages, cities, and on reserves, in public and private schools, I believe that where you choose to raise your kids 💯 percent has an affect on how you raise/educate your children.
I feel like in my current town the expectations placed on parents looks very different based on the school you choose and the social circle you’re in.
I witnessed that same thing in every community I’ve taught in. The expectations are set by the community of parents for that school. In the most successful schools, it was a partnership between the community and the school.
And yes, there is immense social pressures from the parents on other parents, to be “on the same page” on how their kids are raised.
