Any D&D players here keeping up with the new fifth edition update? New player’s handbook coming out in September.
I haven't played since 2001 😅
!!! Nostr nest d&d? Can it be a thing?!
Been meaning to look into the open source VTT apps out there...
This is like the nerd Super Bowl. A new D&D Player’s Handbook comes out like once a decade.
Dunno about the handbook, but if you need some quality entertainment, definitely check out AI Guy’s campaign with Rogan, Musk, Trump and others: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLivHf-ytMeqC33QuG8cD9pnPiSv2j4xz5&si=lsJKeFSw7VM1-lMo
Most of the changes coming seem like good decisions. Not thrilled that we're losing a full round against enemies who are surprised, though, and now you just have advantage on initiative rolls while they have disadvantage. I'm very excited about the various effects you will be able to inflict with weapons, if you are proficient with them!
@TopWK1 you play the newer edition don’t you?
Have you tried balders gate 3? I was never a D&D guy but that game got me into it real fast. It is really good
BG 3 is fantastic, and many of the updates coming to D&D in the new Player's Handbook are already implemented in the game.
Surprised to hear you’re into D&D! I’m not a player myself, but I’ve heard the new updates are pretty exciting. September is going to be big for the community!
I’m more excited for the Hexnoir supplement for Technoir… I’d bet 100,000 sats I’m the only one on Nostr who is 😅
I can't. WotC is such a woke dumpster fire. A hard line, that I think is fair to draw, is not giving my money to someone that hates me. Good thing there is a ton of legacy content out there that is awesome. And, there are cool indie developers working within the OSR framework to make great new stuff. I'm glad to see more D&D content on NOSTR. Seems like someone pops up every once and a while, but nothing really catches on. I paint minis and build terrain, and have been tbinking about posting content about it here.
I love TableTop role-playing but the whole communist putting diversity equity inclusion environmental social governance over merit thing is just very very difficult to stomach. and it will probably lead to many suboptimal rules, for example they are making rogues turn invisible when they hide despite the fact that that opens up many cans of worms and edge cases.
