 My next question is that is this only for the BTC block distribution? I don't see any plans for internet connectivity on a cursory view of the site.

 There are other satellite networks like Inmarsat, but I believe Starlink are the best technically right now. 

Other networks are being launched every day. Including several from BRICS members.

Depends what your requirements, affiliations and budget are.

 It kinda sucks to have to rely on satellite internet. It feels like stepping back into the early aughts with limits and crappy bandwidth. But, if it's the only way, it's the only way.
