🆘 I need help orange-pilling 30 professional #football players. I am prepareing a 20 min #bitcoin talk to @Botev's squad. We have mostly #Bulgarian 🇧🇬 players but also 4 great Nigerian players, as well as players from #Cameroon 🇨🇲, Ivory Coast 🇨🇮, #Guinea 🇬🇫, #Poland 🇵🇱, #Estonia 🇪🇪, #Montenegro 🇲🇪, #Denmark 🇩🇰, and #Croatia 🇭🇷. So far, I plan to go personal by: 1. Asking the African players how to they send remittances to their relatives. And then show them how they can send bitcoin over LN instantly and for free. 2. Asking the experienced players how much income they made over their careers. Then show them how much more they could have if they DCA-ed in #BTC for 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 years. 🙋‍♂️What other impactful examples, ideas, illustrations would you use to orange-pill players? You got good ideas! I think it would be helpful first to explain the problem with fiat money, then explain how #bitcoin can help. Lastly it would be good to get people thinking on what side they're on, fiat = tyranny, slavery, war and shortages, Bitcoin = freedom, peace, abundance and human flourishing.

Discuss potential uses in the sports industry, like player transfers using Bitcoin, sponsorship deals, and global fan engagement. Explain the importance of financial freedom and sovereignty: “Just like in soccer where fair play is essential, Bitcoin ensures a fair and open financial system.” Tell stories of athletes and teams that have adopted Bitcoin and benefited from it.

You could show them this list to illustrate that Bitcoin is already flying high on the league of assets. The league concept should appeal to sportsmen! Give them an example of the staggering inflation when put in the context of a longer period. The price of the "banichka" was at about 0.2 BGN in 1999 (after the hyper inflation and the denomination). In 2204 it costs 2+ BGN. Ask them whether the value of the banicka really 10x-ed in the span of only 25 years, or there must have been something else going on.

I am really am a fan of the potential incentives that we discussed in Prague. Being able to Zap your favorite players when they score a goal or make a play would be game changing for both fans and players.

For sure. But for you to be able to zap them, they need to have an LN address. So my goal is to spark the interest of at least several key ones to set their LNs. Or maybe I can create the addresses for them…🧐

Ask and seek to truly understand what is important to them. Ask them what they have heard and what they want to know. Be wary of “orange pilling”, as it can turn people off and can seem preachy. Think of the effort as a season long endeavor, or better a youth academy as opposed to a single game.

Bitcoin the base layer is football, the pitch, the goals, the ball. Teams are nodes. Managers, tactics, players are L2s, L3s. Fans are plebs.
