Thanks! I thought it was plastic. 

 I suspected fungus. 

It looked a lot like cleaned intestines though 😆 

 The repeated hexagonal rings trip me out. It’s like a biological machine. 

 Fungi are incredible! 

I'd say they're alien like but they've been here longer than we have.
