Then you see how a farmer digging a new foundation triggers a landslide, and for the next ten minutes you're going Holy crap! HOLY crap! HOLY F-ING CRAP!!!!

(NB: I did courses in rheology and viscometry as part of a pharmacy degree. Phase diagrams and flow kinematics were part of the field. Not quite the same, but a lot of overlap.)
