What percentage of the American population do you think knows the country isn’t a democracy?
less than 10%, maybe more than 5%
 Or maybe just under 5%?
 3%
You’d think everyone who went to public school since it’s required curriculum, like it’s something you learn in elementary school and you learn it over and over again from then
They teach you things your brain can’t comprehend at a very young age so you forget and then eat up all their lies later on in life. That’s why a large % of the population doesn’t even know this basic fact about their country
they teach you it in high school, you can’t graduate without passing a test where that’s like the main question
In IL you have to pass the constitution test both to get into and to graduate high school. If I recall correctly, the 8th grade test was an IL requirement, but the requirement to pass it again in high school was a national requirement.

The iorny being that they mandated that you take a test proving that you understand that they don't have the legal authority to mandate that you take that test.
 Absolutely less than 10%
 Way less than that, yes
Dang girl you're going hard a bit. We have to wake people up but because they've been in the Matrix for so long, waking them up too quickly can literally kill them...
lol this is the kind of basic information that every American citizen should know. It’s not as complex as understanding what money is.
 The percent that doesn't vote
"In the 2020 general election, 62.8% of people of voting age voted"
Most people don't have time to think about anything outside of their day to day problems
Very true, hence the messed up status quo
 13%
 Too much
 the few with Bitcoin?
 I like this answer!
 I'm guessing 5%
If you mean what portion knows that the US Constitution outlines a republic rather than a direct democracy, I would guess most people. They just use 'democracy' as short hand for 'representative democracy'.

If you mean what portion knows that we have a ruling elite that subverts the will of the people, probably a much smaller, but quickly growing portion.
 One or two percent, maybe.
 Not nearly enough.
Maybe 7%, generously. It’s not really a republic either, but that’s what it once was.
= % involved in the Lobby and Super Pacs :)
A more interesting question for me is: when did we change?

At the beginning...we were a republic...but now we're certainly not...nor are we a democracy (not sure we've ever been that).

But (somewhere) the politics evolved away from a republic...but not sure when that happened. Anyone have any thoughts?

(Serious question to the historians out there...)
