@32c63b34 I mean, he was pretty buzzed after 3 to 4 glasses of airport bourbon lol. I did catch him on PBS admitting his post missed the mark with regular Americans, you know who pack their own food and get in line to refill their water bottle to avoid paying airport monopoly food prices.
I believe that the economy still feels tough for many people because the cost of living is still high relative their incomes, even if inflation is trending down. But what Brooks did here appears to be intellectually dishonest, a lapse of journalistic ethics in the service of a political cheap shot.
@32c63b34 David Brooks is the classic dangerous "gray man". His columns always start with benign truisms about topics of the day. But there is ALWAYS a key sentence halfway thru where he introduces an unsubstantiated strawman as a given and then pivots to an attack on liberals. See for yourself.
