 Not having a #smartphone (I'm a smartphone refusnik) I am only aware of #WhatsAp, but I know its heavily used by my friends and relations... I'm going to say they will not be best pleased to know that Meta is planning to include adverts in its feeds... 

once again #CoryDoctorow's #enshitification in full effect!

#WhatsApp is not the most user-friendly application.
Allegedly heavily used by politicos & the media because of its supposed end-to-end encryption I dip into it when needed, fairly infrequently.

 @43d7c4ea Yeah, I figured ads were pretty much inevitable once Meta bought them. A lot of the folks I use it with are in Mexico and I think it would be difficult to get them to change at this point.  I also understand the resistance to smartphones, as I was a somewhat late adopter myself (2016).  But now I find having a smartphone very useful when I'm out and about.  I don't live on my phone, though, thank God!
