Speaking the truth is not FUD; in fact, it is a moral duty. Additionally, I have not yet heard any reasonable argument as to why anyone should buy Ethereum. It is centralized and inefficient, pure gambling with no clear vision whatsoever.
Remember, All digital currencies are a consensus network around a psychological concept. Pretty much anyone agreeing that they think money is like this while someone else says I think money is like this. You can not have a consensus about different currencies with different protocols. Otherwise all altcoins would run on bitcoins chain. It is important to learn how to respectfully disagree with someone who has a different view than your own.
First of all chaumin e-cash and robux are digital currencies with no consensus. Second of all, some of these shitcoins really be backed by a single personality. Like a founder or president (Charles) or CEO or business and they often have backdoors to ensure their word is "consensus" Is it really consensus if the options are go along with a hard fork 1 person decided to implement or leave?
In my opinion, Federated tokens are shitcoins too. Anything you trade your bitcoin for is inherently less valuable than bitcoin, Giving it “shitcoin” status. Chaumian ecash does work, But so does ethereum. The consensus is that bitcoin has the widest adoption, And is the most valuable.
I didn't mean that everyone should just buy more and more coins until they have no dollars. I only mean that if someone is in a position where they find their marginal coin so precious that spending it on something that they want seems stupid to them they ought be buying more coins. Coins are clearly more precious to them than the market rate so they should buy some more until that is no longer the case. To use myself, I think the expected value of coins is somewhere around $100000. Yet I use them all the time. That's because ~$300 now is worth as much to me as $100000 will be to me when coins are $100000. If I had almost no coins that wouldn't be the case and I wouldn't spend coins, in fact I'd buy a ton of them until that last coin I bought wasn't particularly precious.
Yes. I think you took my note as an endorsement of e-cash for some reason when in reality, it was a bashing of the idea that all digital currencies are consensus networks. If a government body has consensus on something we don't say that the people being subjugated to its decision as participating in consensus.

I guess the question should be whether the FUD has a strong basis in reasoning and facts. FUD in itself is not specific enough when taken literally. Some things it is very rational and wise to have lots of FUD about So perhaps some qualifying words should be added and the focus should probably be on the reasons why we use the particular qualifiers.

I thought your take leaned more positive for eth than fud, especially when you described it as more of a tech investment. But maybe most people don’t knowingly invest in or understand, for example, companies can have unethical starts and hiccups as they grow.
