Part of the reason nostr is such nice place is that most people here share values. If other groups make their way on here it will stop being that.

Constrast NOSTR with something like Urbit. Nostr, anyone can run a relay, anyone can build a client, etc. There are little to no barriers to entry. Urbit, on the other hand, has a ton of barries to entry. It's relatively hard to setup, get access, etc. There is a clear heirarchy built into the design. It's that way on purpose to preserve quality of members. Interestingly enough Urbit is built on Ethereum.
I guess technically "take off" is relative. For the people that use it, it might. But normies, not so much.
