Somehow 48 minutes ago our release for Windows was replaced. @github doesn't provide any audit log to understand what happened. We have just removed the fake installer but clearly that's not enough. We will continue investigating the issue. Have anyone suffered something similar?
This for wasabi wallet? Did you get any additional info or logs about what happened?
We are trying to get the logs from github but it seems their system doesn't have a decent logging system. There is still no good answers.
I saw your incident report on GitHub. Thank you for the continued work on this. But in all honesty I’m a bit cautious about upgrading versions right now. I’m not planning on doing any coinjoins in the near feature so existing wallet features work for me.
Github cannot be trusted with releases. We're slowly fixing this, making good progress with the developer signing tool. To which I'm adding an option to upload to a Blossom server to completely bypass the dependency on Github. Will be sharing a preview next week. nostr:nevent1qqsqqq8dy9d3hkf5tlsc9hgcwxy0arkcwz0svjmj6p7pwc3a6n3qe6cpz9mhxue69uhkummnw3ezuamfdejj7q3qnccwjspr3nv7h67xx2qhdh2dzzvpyy55gte2dsu8yl7xd7n74y9qxpqqqqqqzqu8glr
@DanConwayDev let's make github obsolete
Let's do it. And let's make installing unverified binaries a thing of the past too.
what are the current hurdles, or are you getting nearer to native-nostr and reducing git server completely? For now anyone can just ssh push up signed commits to an https exposed path (using any free/cheap vps / website host) but yeah NOSTR solves a lot reputation, mirroring etc. just .. Embedded? DHT? Merkelized refs? 🤔 🤪
The model I envision is outlined at https://gitworkshop.dev/concept
Yeah, that’s not gonna happen, LMAO.
I don't give a fuck
Clearly.🙄
About your opinion, I mean
I understood what you meant, but that doesn’t change anything. 🤣
What happened to "hack the planet"? https://image.nostr.build/1a15d09f7502b5703002914e13c3654f16844e882433120345f376126fadca06.jpg
What does that have to do with anything? Github is used by pretty much every Android developer and I would imagine most iOS developers as well. It’s not in any jeopardy of being kicked to the curb until you can find a suitable replacement that every developer will want to use. Until then, GitHub’s not going anywhere.
