#politics How to collapse NATO: Step 1: Turkey incites Israel, with rhetoric, supplying Israel's enemies, maybe even launches against them. Step 2: Israel attacks Turkey (the 2nd most powerful NATO country) Step 3: NATO countries now have to defend Turkey due to article 5 Step 4: USA breaks with NATO and defends Israel (of course they would) There is no mechanism to expel a NATO member. Turkey is very pro-Palestine and has threatened to invade Israel and forcibly keep the peace. Putin would love to weaken or collapse NATO, and this lever has to be on his mind.

Israel won't attack Turkey but you do make a good point - Turkey doesn't belong in NATO if Israel attacked Turkey it would be like USS Liberty all over again - the media would pretend it didn't happen and if Turkey attacked Israel pretty sure that would be reason enough for it to get expelled from NATO whether a mechanism exists or not these organizations are only as good as political will backing them

if Turkey provides Hezbollah with material aid then family members of Erdogan will suddenly start having heart attacks and car accidents and the same will begin to happen to other senior members of government and military ... there will be "terrorist attacks" in Turkey similar to September 11 in USA that nobody in the media will connect to Israel ... Turkish airliners will start dropping like flies similar to how Israel has been blowing up Russian and Iranian planes carrying nuclear scientists ... And on and on ... and everybody in the media will pretend like they have no clue who is doing it Basically your plan suggests that the smartest people on earth will do the stupidest things in order to shoot themselves in the foot - and then the good guys ( a.k.a. the dumb fucks ) can win ! sorry mate but not happening. back to the drawing board !

Hmm interesting. They might try to blackmail or pressure in some other way Erdogan and the Turkish elites, but would def be interesting to see that happen. The US would prob be doing everything in its power to make sure that doesn't happen though.
