Just a heads up for those of you who shout "shitcoin!" when I mention Monero, and at everything that's not Bitcoin.
**Cashu** is **eCash**. **eCash is not Bitcoin.** eCash is a cryptocurrency that was forked from Bitcoin Cash, which itself was a fork of the original Bitcoin blockchain.
**Fedimint** uses Bitcoin and eCash tokens (referred to as fm-BTC or fm-sats) within the Fedimint system.
"The money "fm-BTC" held by the user are actually "digital bearer certificates" or "eCash notes" stored on the users phone."
eCash was developed by the Bitcoin ABC team, the same group that created Bitcoin Cash.
I urge you to get over any parroted monolithic toxic BTC ideology you may still be holding to.
eCash/Cashu likely has its place as a more private, non-techy custodial solution on top of BTC, though it does come with very real risks of custodial rugpulling and malicious actors.
It is NOT Bitcoin.
Monero doesn't need a second layer; it's time tested and private by default on a protocol level.
Stack sats, test L2 solutions, use Monero.
Thanks for coming to my TED talk.

In a monero I is affraid of a government 51% a attack the rest I is a love
You mixed up two different things with the same name, chaumian ecash technology used for Cashu layer 3 tokens redeemable for sats. And the bcash fork with a retarded name to confuse people: eCash.
The fact remains that the eCash tokens from Cashu mints and such ARE NOT BITCOIN. They are IOU slips, and unique tokens to the mint. They are not interchangeable with other mints. The custodian (the mint) can rugpull and can prevent outbound spends. Users/Customers of a mint have no guarantee to access to Bitcoin once they exchange their sats for ecash tokens.
Cashu is an eCash implementation.
"The group that believed Bitcoin should be used as a payment method only ended up leaving the community and created Bitcoin Cash in 2017."
"Bitcoin backed" != Bitcoin.
Cashu is a Layer 2 Bitcoin project that enables private, and cheap Bitcoin-backed eCash transactions using Chaumian eCash principles.
Not to be pedantic but since cashu is built atop lightning and not the base chain, it should be considered a L3
💯 It is. Typo. Thx :)
Corrected now for all who use Amethyst. ;)
I think you're confusing ecash protocols (Cashu/Fedimints) with the cryptocurrency 'eCash' (XEC)
But otherwise I agree with everything you said. The mental gymnastics from some Bitcoin maxis that don't believe ecash is a shitcoin, literal IOUs, yet believe other cryptos are, is too much (doesnt mean ecash isn't useful and doesn't have it's own unique advantages)
