I think you can already do that with minibits 

 Can generate a QR that will pay x amount but how would you leave it on the table?

 There are tiny portable printers for $100. You print the QR. First to scan it gets the sats.

 An alternative would be to write a very long string of characters 😅

 Just let the tables to have their QR codes as a first step. Not as a replacement for physical menus, but as a replacement for waitress having to show up with the bill, card reader and receipt in 3 separate steps.
