You can easily install umbrel on Linux (Ubuntu and Debian I think). It’s literally one command on the command line that you copy off their website. Umbrel supposedly had a big upgrade in April, but last I checked in April the Linux version wasn’t available I’ve been running start9
I’ve never seen someone run both & choose umbrel.
I wouldn’t call either easy, at least on Linux. I couldn’t understand umbrel lightning backup and couldn’t grasp (despite a short tutorial) how to make backup work on start9 (which requires SMB). Start9 allows(or maybe will allow) you to make your own packages (might require upgrade to as of yet not ready software)
