suppose it's more of a taster of what is to come, but yeah I get your point. Still it worked for La Jetee and that didn't even have slight movement, apart from panning across still images:)
Once they figure out a way to ensure some sort of consistency between shots, then it will get a lot easier to actually tell a story.
Corridor Digital made good progress with that and made a little short with it, the films being made with machine learning generators right now will probably be looked back on in a similar way to the early experiments in film or digital video where it was just technicians filming random stuff to get it working & strange artists with ideas for how to use the tech within its experimental limitations
A bit on the negative side, but this was a good dive into the subject. https://youtu.be/aC99lNQdNmA?si=ofnxTMogiiIq0EL3
Too long. Simple reality is I was never gonna start paying corporate studios for their work & being able to make better stuff myself with AI isn't going to be the thing that changes my mind
Will watch later but I think perhaps partly the interest behind 'Lazy AI film making' is that a lot of film making made by humans feels just as lazy. AI films are pastiches collaged, but so is a lot of the crap around today (not everything obviously) so it doesn't really take a leap of faith to imagine the slop being replaced by AI slop.
