I'm getting kind of sick of seeing slideshows with slight movement called films.
suppose it's more of a taster of what is to come, but yeah I get your point. Still it worked for La Jetee and that didn't even have slight movement, apart from panning across still images:)
Once they figure out a way to ensure some sort of consistency between shots, then it will get a lot easier to actually tell a story.
Corridor Digital made good progress with that and made a little short with it, the films being made with machine learning generators right now will probably be looked back on in a similar way to the early experiments in film or digital video where it was just technicians filming random stuff to get it working & strange artists with ideas for how to use the tech within its experimental limitations
A bit on the negative side, but this was a good dive into the subject. https://youtu.be/aC99lNQdNmA?si=ofnxTMogiiIq0EL3
Too long. Simple reality is I was never gonna start paying corporate studios for their work & being able to make better stuff myself with AI isn't going to be the thing that changes my mind
Will watch later but I think perhaps partly the interest behind 'Lazy AI film making' is that a lot of film making made by humans feels just as lazy. AI films are pastiches collaged, but so is a lot of the crap around today (not everything obviously) so it doesn't really take a leap of faith to imagine the slop being replaced by AI slop.
All movies are slideshows with music over them. Sorry for being pedantic.
Check this one out. It's rough, but more than just a slideshow: https://youtu.be/N_Nvr4ztBXs?si=cexli6_wt2pG38cF
Absolute trash, zero artistic value. Putting together a random string of images is not film-making.
I think it is feasible that someone could make something of value with it. I can imagine a no-budget director using it as found imagery with a very cool script doing something playful. In the same way someone could collage from found imagery or stolen footage now, but it would have to have something special about it. It's mostly just generic tropes spliced together.
I'm working on a script for an AI film that's projected to be 51 hours long by my current math, about a guy getting stuck in his video game collection and finding out he sucks at actually being his favorite playable characters and he needs to git gud before he can escape
51 hours! Lol
My math there was based on how long it takes to show a decent amount of soundtrack songs in the GTA games without turning the movie into a musical or a mainly GTA focused thing If I do a good job with the 51 hour version someone will probably make a 2 hour cut
