NOT ALL FLAWS ARE EQUAL. COMPLEXITY IS WORSE THAN MOST. NOSTR IS SIMPLE.

Be thankful nostr is here & ignore the problems just be greatful? No fix the issues until then it's all the same to me.
 You probably didn’t read carefully
No I did it says be thankful an alternative is here.

"A protocol, however flawed, will always be better than alternatives that don’t yet exist. In recent weeks, many are realizing the need for a decentralized alternative.

Nostr is here. And that's all that matters."

I disagree because decentralized social media was established before nostr came along nostr isn't the first decentralized platform. Mirukey/calckey/firefish/sharkey, mastodon, pixelfed, lemmy, & peertube are all alternatives as well. Theres no point if it's flawed because having another site is not important in an infinite space. Whats important is the quality of craftsmenship to the software in making it correctly for all.

With flaws not being criticized devs won't know there is a flaw & if that doesn't matter then neither does being on one site or another. The bottom line is an alternative existing alone is not enough if it cannot be on par with it's competition.
I didn’t write that criticizing the protocol is wrong. I literally wrote “rightfully”. But tbf it was a quick take, so I get that it could be misunderstood. All I meant was that only criticizing or snobbing the protocol because there’s better tech out there (holepunch?) isn’t useful when the alternatives are not ready yet. Which doesn’t mean that we shouldn’t focus on understanding what the flaws are in Nostr, and how to fix them.
I know you didn't write it's wrong. But your right we should understand the flaws & througj criticism I think is the public trying to tell the devs whats up. If devs constantly ignore issues but then add other features which don't fix the issues then thats when we should start looking for the next best thing.

Proprietary devs ignore you.
Open source devs tell you learn how to code & contribute the fix yourself then ignore you.

Just being there isn't enough as an alternative if I have to look for the next best thing because one thing is missing then I will & when someone has I move on to the next best thing.
