so the myth goes that the people that settled in Egypt around 15 000 years ago came from Atlantis or "the Eye of the Sahara" - this place was the pinnacle of society, and according to myth were so advanced that "the Gods punished them" and thus afterwards, they migrated to Egypt and rebuilt there, before the "Great Flood" around 12, 500 years ago. The assumption is that these people helped define Sumerian scriptures, as well as build things like the Sphinx (before Old Egypt pharaohs repurposed it)
Solon speaks of this place Atlantis, among others, but it's carried through Myth now rather than any factual or quantitative evidence. What we know is that Atlantis was 3 concentric circles, each one containing water and connecting to a great river. It was also "East of the Pillars of Hercules" which makes sense if you were looking out to the Atlantic Ocean through the "pillars" (Gibraltar and Africa) from the center of the Mediterranean sea. In fact the mountain in Morocco is called the "atlas" mountains.
for timeline understanding: Lion's used to be in Europe during Alexander the Great. His timeline is towards the end of the Sumerian empire (we have coins of his face) - the Atlantians would have arrived 10 000 years prior to Alexander the Great - but Egypt at the time was already a well established civilization that spanned upper and lower Nile, but also Sinai towards current day Lebanon.
Have you dug into the Younger Dryas Impact Hypothesis?
Our ancestors certainly went to great lengths to warn us about cataclysmic foods.
Living in a cosmic shooting gallery has its risks, and so does building cities on the coast.
yeah, Randall Carlson is the man. I do believe we had a cataclysm to some extant that created the "Great Flood" - in fact, a lot of Abraham scripture is based off Sumerian scripture. At some point there was a "great flood" and many ancient scriptures talk about this, especially Sumerian and Egyptians.
I was already looking into links between the Younger Dryas and flood myths, when the Randall Carlson came along and had really put things together.
